EFFECTIVE 7/1/16 CAMP FIRES WILL BE ALLOWED IN THE PORTLAND AREA FIRE AUTHROITY DISTRICT. FIRES SHALL BE IN A CONTAINED AREA, ATTENDED AT ALL TIMES, HAVE A WATER SOURCE AT THE FIRE AND COMPLETELY OUT WHEN LEAVING FOR THE EVENING. ABSOLUTLY NO BRUSH PILES OR BON FIRES WILL BE PERMITTED.
Because extended dry spell and high winds, Chief Baker has ordered a BURNING BAN for the fire district, including Portland Township, City of Portland, and the northern half of Danby Township within the District. No new permits will be issued until further notice. (This does not include gas or charcoal grills.) No permits will be issued until conditions change.
