The City of Portland, located on I-96 between Lansing and Grand Rapids, in Ionia County, is seeking an Account Clerk II/Income Tax Clerk. This full time position performs responsible administrative and accounting work in support of the City Treasurer’s Office. Administers the City income tax and assists with property tax collections. Receipts, posts and deposits all funds received by the City.
The City is seeking a candidate with possession of an associate’s Degree in business, bookkeeping or related field and a minimum of two years of experience in income tax auditing or enforcement, bookkeeping, or related field; or any equivalent combination of training and experience. The ideal candidate will need to possess excellent customer service skills.
